Sandy Toes New Release with Artful Angel

Hey crafty peeps!  It's the Victoria Day long weekend here in Canada and what a beauty it was weather-wise!  I was totally dreaming of the water and sandy beaches when I created this card using the new release "Sandy Toes" stamp set from Artful Angel, available May 25th.

I colored this sweetie with my Prismacolor Pencils on Neenah Desert Storm card stock.  I haven't colored with my pencils in a while.  I'm so glad I did, I thought I was losing my nerve lol.  There's a sneek peek of something else in this project as well!  If you look closely, you might see a layer of a new Artful Angel 6 x 6 patterned paper (think pink!).

Theses new stamps and patterned paper will be available in the Artful Angel shop on May 25th, stay tuned for more inspiration from our wonderful Design Team and Guest Designers in the Facebook Group for Artful Angel.

Stampendous Watercolor Whimsy with StamprGrl

Good day friends!  Phew it's been one heck of a few months and I seem to be having the hardest time getting things together, including my Watercolor Whimsy posts!  This is a watercolor collaboration between myself and Dalis who is also known as StamprGrl!

So, for this month we are working on a Stampendous stamp set!  I have chosen this one called Daisy Thanks.

I stamped the daisies onto watercolor paper and painted them with a combination of Prima Marketing and Jane Davenport watercolors.  Then I decided to give it a mixed media vibe and added some color and stamping to the background.  I added the sentiment from the stamp set and finished the panel off with some black paint splatters and enamel dots.

To put the card together I layered the panel over some black cardstock before adding it to the card base.  I love how soft the colors turned out but it still seems to have an impact!

Don't forget to go and visit Dalis' blog today to see which Stampendous stamp set she decided to create with!  Also, stay tuned for next month we are creating with The Greeting Farm stamps!

Zentangle Bookmark

Hello my friends, thank you so much for joining me today!  I am here to share one of my Tangled bookmarks with you!

I created this bookmark using several tangles and fill-ins.  I created the watercolor background first.  Then added the drawing with my brown Micron pen.  To finish the drawing, I added shading and highlights with my graphite pencil and Prismacolor Premiere pencils.  I think this one is my favorite out of all 6.  I matted the bookmark onto black paper and punched the top.  Then I laminated it and added a handmade tassel.  I will be sharing more bookmarks with you soon!

I am in the process of moving both myself and my daughter in what could be opposite directions lol, so things are very sporadic and chaotic for us right now.  Please be patient with me as I get into SOME sort of schedule again ;)

CC Designs Birthday Critters with Artful Angel - a Planner Insert Page!

Good day my friends!  Today I am sharing a planner page I created using the Birthday Critters stamp set from CC Designs, available in the Artful Angel shop!

I wanted to create a page that migrates every year into my current planner, and what better page to create than a birthday list!  This cute little critter was perfect to pair with the Echo Park A Birthday Wish 6x6 paper pad, also available in the Artful Angel shop ;)

I colored this little kitty cat with my Copic markers and layered him up over some of the Echo Park paper.  I added some die cut letters and a birthday hat from the newly released Party Animal stamp set from Artful Angel.  I added the Happy Birthday title using the Big Birthday stamp set also from Artful Angel lol.  An all star cast in one planner page!

Did you know if you go to the Artful Angel Facebook group and search the stamp set you would like to see...you get a whole bunch of inspiration!?  Try it!

Dream Home by Woodware Stamps

Good day friends!  Have you discovered Woodware stamps yet?  I have and I am obsessed with them.  Especially the ones designed by Francois Read.  I have started a collection, I'm gonna be real lol.  Especially Francois' gnomes!  They are stinking adorable and are currently one of my top two absolute favourite gnomes :) (if you want to see my other favourite, stay tuned ;))

I stamped this Dream Home stamp in a grey ink (moving crafty stuff to a new place...) because I couldn't find my black ink lol.  It's a different look, but not one I think I will repeat.  I colored the image using my Copic Markers and layered it over some patterned paper from my stash (also a chore to find lol).  I added some enamel dots and some white highlights with my white gel pen.  I added the sentiment from the set and popped it up on dimensional adhesive to finish it off.

I'm sure you've seen some of the other Woodware stamp sets I have, I am enjoying them thoroughly.

I will see you again soon with my fun!

CC Designs Birthday Critters with Artful Angel

I am frantically trying to catch up with my blogging and posting.  Unfortunately, I am behind what with trying to pack up both my daughter and I to move in opposite directions lol.  In the meantime, I have created a birthday card to share with you today using the Birthday Critters stamp set from CC designs, available at Artful Angel!

These cute little critters make great birthday (as well as many other celebratory) greeting cards both masculine and feminine!  For the cards I created (and there are a few ;)) I used the Echo Park paper 6x6 paper pad called A Birthday Wish Boy, also available in the Artful Angel shop!

I have colored this little critter using my Copic Markers and layered it over paper from the A Birthday Wish paper pad, added the stamped sentiment and some of enamel dots.  I have also used a card sketch to jump start my mojo (he seems to have gone on vacation without me!), although for the life of me I cannot remember where the sketch is from.

A new release is coming in May!  Are you excited?  Come and see us in the Facebook group, Artful Angel Takes Flight to see what's coming!

Above and Beyond with Joy Clair Designs

I have another floral design to share with you today using the Above and Beyond digital stamp set from Joy Clair Designs.

I decided to color this image with a monochromatice color pallette.  I used the E40 colors along with some white Prismacolor pencil to brighten the highlights.  I layered the image over some patterned paper from my stash and added some enamel dots.  Lastly, I printed out a digital sentiment from the same set and popped it up on some dimensional adhesive.

Do you sometimes have a person in mind when you are creating a card or coloring a particular image?  I did with this one.  My daughter had just crashed her car the day before and one of the many things that stuck out for us in this experience was the nice people that came out of their homes to assist her!  In particular, a lady named Linda who heard and saw the crash from her kitchen window and immediately came to my daughter's aid.  My daughter and her friend are fine (the car is another story), don't worry, but they had never been in an accident before and are only in their early 20's.  So, it was an upsetting experience for both of them.  Paige mentioned she would like to give Linda a thank you card for her assistance that day and so this card came out of that situation.  Thank you Linda, you are a godsend :)
