My Favorite Children's Book and C. C. Designs

This week's challenge at C.C. Designs must be  based on your favorite children's book.  A tough challenge, indeed!  I chose The Secret Garden, by Frances Hodgson Burnett, an eclectic and endearing story.

I chose to alter a kraft paper gift bag, using the "Summer Swing Birgitta" and "Park Bench" images, which you can find on the C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps Online Store.

She turned out so sweet, I could just picture her surrounded by a sea of flowers in a secret garden.

You can join in our challenges over at C.C. Designs Challenge Blog!  We would love to see your wonderful artwork!  Stay tuned for more fun with C.C. Designs!

Halloween with Polkadoodles!

For my second piece with Polkadoodles, I chose to color "Witchie Goth" in a monochromatic scheme.  I ended up adding some orange tint to the whole image to give her a more Halloween color.  I added her to a kraft paper gift bag along with a HOST of embellishments and papers:)

I enjoyed coloring this image, she was a great way to learn monochromatic coloring due to her many pieces and parts.

I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils in the following colors:
Beige PC997
Mineral Orange PC1033
Chocolate PC1082
Dark Brown PC946

Visit Polkadoodles online store for MANY more digital images hand drawn by Nikky Hall herself.  You can see her other DDT member pieces and join in her challenges here.

The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge #19

For this  challenge piece for The Paper Nest Dolls, I chose to do a monochromatic image.  I chose "Steampunk Owen" and my daughter suggested an altered composition book, which I did....and she immediately claimed, lol.

I love how this guys turned out, and not bad for my second monochromatic piece!  Stay tuned to see my first!  Join us for The Paper Nest Dolls Challenges!

Polka...Polka...Polka...Doodles!

I am very excited to announce that I have been accepted as part of Nikky's Digi Design Queens over on Polka Doodle, and here is my first piece!

I used 'Bella'  from Nikky's Pretty Sweet Girls collection, as well as some of the digital papers from the same line.  I loved coloring this image, and the card evolved on it's own given the colors of the image and the paper ;)

Here's a closeup of the colored image, and below I have added the color numbers of the Prismacolor Premiere Pencils that I have used.  Enjoy!

CC Designs Challenge Piece - Back to School!

Hello everyone, I have a new project to show you for the CC Designs Challenge Blog.  It is an altered Composition Book, called "The Book List".

I had a blast making this piece, and the image is called "Book Abigail" from CC Designs.  You can find her here.  There are many gorgeous images in the CC Designs online store.  You just can't help but fall in love with them all!

I thought she was so perfect for the Back to School theme, and she reminded me so much of my daughter and her BFF.  They are both avid readers and love to compare their 'book lists'.  My daughter asked me if I would make something special for her friend's birthday this week, and I just couldn't pass this idea up!  Both girls are starting high school this coming week, and I know this book will come in handy for her.

I would love to give you a list of materials used, but unfortunately, this is all from my stash and was no longer in packages :S.  I colored the image with my Prismacolor Premiere pencils, and as she was my first DT piece, I colored her a couple weeks ago, and didn't write down the color numbers, sorry :(

CC Designs has a new challenge on their blog, posted every two weeks.  Come and join us and show off your wonderful pieces while at the same time maybe winning some digital stamps in the process!
