Little Miss Hollywood, The Paper Nest Dolls

It's inspiration time for The Paper Nest Dolls and I love this image, Miss Hollywood, she is so pretty in her black dress, just waiting to walk down the red carpet :)  I used a sketch again this week (trying to master this!), this time from Mojo Monday :)

I used a Wink of Stella Clear Gold Glitter brush on her gloves and frills but, alas, you can't see it in the picture:P.

A Sweet Happy Birthday with Quick Creations

This was super fun image to color for Noelle at Quick Creations.  This is Cupcake Kiki by CC Designs, that you can find in Noelle's shop at Quick Creations :)

Cupcake Kiki by CC Designs
I colored her with my Prismacolor Pencils in the following colors:

Hair - PC942, 1034, 1033, 943
Skin - PC927, 939, 1029
Shirt - PC929, 1030
Skirt - PC1088, 936
Cupcake - PC989, 913, 908, 997, 946, 1082
Shoes - PC997, 1082, 946

She is just far too adorable :)  I put the sentiment only on the inside of the card; sometimes I feel that adding a sentiment can 'dirty' up the art of the card front, and this was one of those times.  So I die-cut the Birthday banner and stamped the happy.

Cupcake Kiki by CC Designs

I used quite a few materials from Noelle's shop in this design including the Cupcake Kiki CC Designs Rubber Stamp image, the Doodlebug "Sugar Shoppe" 6 x 6 paper, Die-Versions Birthday Banner Die, Die-Versions Whispers Butterfly Garden Edge Die,  CC Designs Amy R Scripted Sentiments Rubber Stamp Set, as well as three Spellbinders dies (Classic Rectangles Large, Moroccan Motifs and Wonderful Wings.

Don't forget about the monthly challenge going on at the Quick Creations Challenge blog!  This month's theme is to create a a background using a stamp!  This is fun to do, I did this with my Denami Flower Bloom Stamp already this month, and you can find that blog post here :)

Stay tuned, I'll be doing a cool CAS with the Denami Flower Bloom stamp coming up soon!

Pretty Little Notecards

I made these pretty note cards set for my inspiration piece this week for Crafty Ribbons.  I was only going to make one, but I had so much fun making the background papers that I couldn't stop at one :)

I used the Cotton lace in these pieces to make the flowers....

And the sentiments ribbon for the sentiments...

And of course I added the handmade ribbon tags :)  The background papers and ATC cards are all handmade by me, using a Stampin' Up stamp and a wax paper relief technique :)

You can find all kinds of lovely ribbon in the Crafty Ribbons online store, and also join their bi-weekly challenges !

Some serious WOW from The East Wind

OK, so this new image from The East Wind has some serious WOW factor to it....are you ready?

Introducing The East Wind's Hair Heaven Rose Garden!

OK, really, what can I say about this image that you haven't already figured out?  It's GAH-OR-GOUSSSS!!!!!

This was such a stunning image in black and white, lol, I couldn't help but color her in black and white.  Well, alright, I actually only colored her in white, lol...on black cardstock.

I only used one colored pencil for this image, and yes, it was a Prismacolor Premiere, white PC938.  And I say was...because I used up a whole white pencil on this piece.  But it was so worth it :)  I will definitely do her again soon, this time in color and I already have her printed out on kraft and white card stock.

If you would like to purchase this digital image you can find her on The East Wind website as well as in the Etsy shop!  Don't forget to find TEW on Facebook and Instagram!

Some ribbon jewelry fun!

My piece this week was supposed to be a challenge piece for the beginning of the month for Crafty Ribbons. But due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to take some time off.  I am back and ready to roll, lol, and here it is :

I created this vintage looking necklace using the Flower Blocks sheer ribbon, and heat embossed the edges with fuschia embossing powder.  This is the first time I try this technique and at first I worried about the ribbon ruffling in the heat, but it actually adds to the authenticity of the flower :)  I won't worry over that any more.  I added the rose and some pearl trim to a metal embellishment, and added chain and some danglies to complete the piece.  I am quite happy with the outcome of this piece and will be making more ribbon jewelry on the future ;)

I am so excited that this piece will be published in Scrap 'n Art Magazine in July's issue!  The photo will be replaced in September ;)

Lucy Loo - Being Lucy with The East Wind

I had some fun and a learning experience with this image called Lucy Loo - Being You from The East Wind :)

Lucy Loo - Being Lucy by The East Wind
The fun part of this project was definitely in the coloring, and so was the learning experience!  I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried her eyes the way Unky might do them, lol.  So maybe they're not quite as good as Unky's but, I really like the overall effect:)

You can purchase this awesome image, as well as so many more on The East Wind Etsy store, a nd you can visit The East Wind website for more inspiration.  Don't forget to find The East Wind on Facebook and on Instagram!

Some Denami fun with Quick Creations

I had waaayy too much fun with this stamp from Denami :)  Noelle asked me to create a clean and simple piece, and well...I made a few lol.

For this piece, I started out making a background paper, using the Flower Bloom Stamp, and then added it to cardstock and stamped the image again on vellum :)

This is a closeup of the details on the small note cards I made using the same stamp :)

These are the small note cards (see, I told you I had too much fun, lol).

And this is the box that I made to hold the set of four small note cards.  It's amazing what you can do with such a sweet and simple stamp :)\

You can find this stamp in Noelle Martin's online shop Quick Creations.  You can also find many more awesome products!  There is a monthly challenge going on over on the Quick Creations blog, and the theme this month is:  create a background using a rubber stamp image!  Don't forget to use something in your creation that can be found in the online store at Quick Creations (and link it up too!)

Princess Rose, The Paper Nest Dolls

My inspiration piece this week for The Paper Nest Dolls was a fun project.  Christine and Monica challenged me to follow a sketch for my card.  Yikes!  I've never followed a sketch before!  So, I shopped around online for some that I liked, and I found this one by Sweet Sunday :)

Princess Rose by The Paper Nest Dolls

For this project, I chose the Princess Rose rubber stamp image from the new Fairy Tale Collection :)  I followed the sketch to the letter, lol, which I supposed is not necessarily the point, but it's my first one, so why not, lol.  Apparently, I need some new lights for my light tent, lol, things are looking a little dim :(

It's the Simple Things

I have a card for you today for my Crafty Ribbons Inspiration project this week.  I really like how this turned out, I tried a new technique for the background, and of course added my favorite handmade-by-me ribbon flower and also some beads!

I spent a lot of time on this piece because I was just having way too much fun :)  I love playing with paper and color, and well when you add ribbon into the mix, the fun doesn't stop lol!

I used my Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create the background, and added beads from my stash, but the star of the show is the fabulous ribbons and laces from Crafty Ribbons.  The flower and petals are made using the  Ivory Grosgrain 16 mm ribbon.  I also used the Etienne Cotton Lace in Honey and Rouge.  To finish this off, I used some sentiment ribbon and made a tag using the Handmade Ribbon.  If you are looking for quality and unique ribbon, Crafty Ribbons is the place to look :)  I have so much fun playing with my new stash of ribbons from Crafty Ribbons, I may have to order soon!

Crafty Ribbons has bi-weekly challenges on their challenge blog and you  can also find them on Facebook.  Come back soon and see the next installment of Crafty Ribbons with me hehe ;)

Summer Dreams CAS with Make it Crafty

Make it Crafty is having a CAS Design Team Call!

And of course, I am all over that! LOL!

So I chose a digital image called "Summer Dreams" from the Make it Crafty website and played around with it a bit :)  I love to use my Silhouette Studio Design Software to manipulate digital images, and this one worked out just as I planned it in my head.

Summer Dreams by Make it Crafty

I printed her on white card stock, and then used a framed embossing folder from Darice.  I colored her with my Prismacolor Premiere Pencils in the following colors:

Hat:  PC1085, 945, 948
Hat band:  PC1026, 1078, 931
Hair:  PC935
Skin:  PC927, 939, 1029
Eyes:  PC1103, 901, 1060

For the background, I watercolored, using my Stampin' Up Stamp'n Write markers in Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turqouise, along with my Tim Holtz Distress Markers in Worn Lipstick and Stormy Sky.

The sentiment is computer generated, and adhered using dimensional adhesives, and lastly, I added some adhesive transparent disco ball shapes to add some sparkle :)

Summer Dreams by Make it Crafty

There are so many awesome images on the Make it Crafty website, and I would love to try  all of them.  It is such a tough decision to make when shopping there :P

I wish everyone good luck, and don't forget to check out the challenges on the MitC blog, as well as their wonderful design team member makes :)

Hairnest by The East Wind - New Release :)

I have a new release for you today from The East Wind!  Are you ready?  It's another fabulous digital image from Unky Lastrange. This image is called "Hairnest" and it is another awesome and unique image.  You can find this image and a lot more of these very unique images in The East Wind Etsy shop or visit The East Wind website and blog to see more!

Isn't she cute?  I love the simplicity of this image and I found it really lends itself to a nature or rustic themed project.   I colored this image with my Prismacolor Premiere colored pencils in the following colors:
Birds:  PC1025, 901
Hair:  PC915, 1034, 947
Skin:  PC927, 939, 1029
Eyes:  PC913, 908
Lips:  PC1092, 1029
Nest:  PC1084, 948, 945

I have used a simple single card base for this card and added a flap under the image to hold the sentiment.

This sentiment immediately came to mind when I saw the image with the nest on her head...and I just had to go with it :)

Little Miss Muffet, sat on her tuffet.....

What is a tuffet?  I've always wondered that, lol

This week for Quick Creations, Noelle Martin sent me "Lottie" from Little Miss Muffet rubber stamps.  This is the first time I color one of their stamps, and she is enjoyable.  They are cute stamps.  Unfortunately, I forgot to keep my list of colors (I swear I did, but I can't find it :( ), but I'm sure you can guess some color combos of your own ;)

Lottie by Little Miss Muffet rubber stamps

I used my Prismacolor premiere pencils to color her up, and I also used paper from the Doodlebug "springtime" 6 x 6 paper pad, also available in the Quick Creations store.
