Today is NOT for the Birds with Sweet Stamps!

Hello everyone, I have some inspiration today for Sweet Stamps :)  I am so excited to be on this team :)  I chose to do this cute rubber stamp called "For the Birds" and turned it into a fun happy card to celebrate a great day.

I colored these sweeties up with my Copics and Prismacolor Markers and Prismacolor Premiere Pencils in the following colors:

Copics: R22, R12, Y21, YG03, RV13, B00
Prismacolor Marker:  PB130
Prismacolor Pencils:  PC942, 1034, 1032, 918, 921, 1032, 912, 908,
1086, 929, 994, 1030, 923, 925, 937

I completed this project with some thread and paper flowers from my stash, and paper from the Studio Calico Print Shop! collection.

This is a fun image that can be used in a variety of ways.  This stamp is available in rubber stamp form on the Sweet Stamp online store, as well as many, many others!  Come and join us for some fun challenges on the challenge blog as well.  We have the Monthly Anything Goes challenge on the first Sunday of every month, and the Anything But a Card challenge on the third Sunday of every month.  Lots of fun and prizes to be had!

I'm on the Sweet Stamps Team! And a challenge :)

I am so excited to be on the Sweet Stamps Design Team!  MY first project is for the monthly Anything Goes Challenge, and I chose to create using one of the Glam Girl digital images.  This is "Sasha" and you can find her here.

I enlarged the image in my Silhouette Designer software, and cropped her to fill the space on a card front panel.  I colored her using my Copics, Prismacolor Markers and Prismacolor pencils in the following colors:

Skin:  E000
PC927, 939, 1029
Hair:  PB130
PC925, 935
Eyes:  YG03
PC913, 912, 908, 911, 935
Lips:  R11
PC1092, 1029
Dress:  YG03
PC913, 912, 908, 911, 935

I layered her with some green cardstock from Recollections and added only three green sequins; I wanted the image to take center stage.  The sentiment is computer generated using my silhouette software.  I really enjoy making clean and simple cards, where the image is the main focal point.  It really showcases the gorgeous images that we color, which is the whole point...right?

Come and join us for the Monthly Anything Goes Challenge, and you can also join in on the monthly Anything but a card challenge on the third Sunday of every month!  And if you are looking for some sweet rubber stamps, chipboard or stencils, come and visit the Sweet Stamps online shop!  Some sweet goodness just may find it's way into your shopping cart!

Treat Yourself with Gorjuss and Quick Creations

Hello everyone, I have another Gorjuss feature for you today :)  Funny story, lol...I showed Noelle Martin from Quick Creations my colored version of Black Star, and she said, I thought you were doing Black Star hahahahaha.  Turns out I colored up Ladybird (again!) by mistake hahahahaha.  Oy, so I stamped out Black Star and colored her for sure this time lol.  So, that being the said, I will have another Ladybird to show you soon lol.

Here is the right "Black Star" for you :)

I colored her with my Copics, Prismacolor Markers and Prismacolor Premiere pencils in the following colors:

PC927, 939, 1029
Dress:  PB89
PC948, 946, 1082, 914
Tights:  V15
PC1008, 932, 996, 1051, 914, 1054
Shoes:  PB89
PC948, 946, 1089
Bows:  V15
PC1008, 932, 996, 914

To finish this project I used paper from the Gorjuss Dear Alice 6 x 6 paper pad, the Lala Land Honeycomb Die, Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Aged Mahogany, Black Soot and Walnut Stain, as well as some paper roses from my stash and a sentiment stamp from Stampin' Up.

Noelle is having a great sale on right now over at the Quick Creations shop!  And if you're looking for Santoro's Gorjuss or Mirabelle Stamps, look no further (I happen to know she got a bunch in yesterday hahaha).  Have some crafty fun and I'll see you soon!

The Paper Nest Dolls with Quick Creations

I am back with a fun and fall-colored Paper Nest Dolls image called "Flower Friend" for Quick Creations :)  Not only do I love the feeling of fall, I also love the colors.  And I colored this cutie pie in fall colors just because I love them...good reason right? LOL!

I colored her using my Copic markers and Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils in the following colors:

Hair:  YR24
87, 76, 75
Skin:  E000
32, 31, 30, 90
Dress:  YR02
09, 15, 17, 90
Flower:  BG10
61, 53, 58

To finish this project off I also used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Peeled Paint and Spiced Marmalade, Echo Park Summer Bliss 6 x 6 paper, a Hero Arts Stamp for the sentiment, Art Co hanger clip, Piccolo pop-up flower chipboard piece, Heidi Swapp wooden cuts, and paper flowers from Recollections.

You can find some of these items in the shop at Quick Creations, including this cute stamp, and many others from The Paper Nest Dolls.  Noelle is also having a fall sale right now until October 16th so don't forget to go and check it out!

Time for a Challenge at Crafty Ribbons!

Hello all!  I had a wonderful vacation this summer.  How was yours?  I traveled to sunny Manitoulin Island to spend two weeks with my parents.  It was wonderful.

It's challenge time at Crafty Ribbons, and for this challenge, the theme is Happy Birthday!

I created this Happy Birthday card using the Vintage Butterflies Ribbon - Keys in Creme.

I colored these Chrysanthemum digital images from Paper Garden Projects using my Prismacolor Premiere Pencils and OMS.  This was my first project using this method of coloring, and I had them finished and sitting in my basket for months before I decided to use them :)

Creating a bow with ribbon that is patterned on only one side can be very challenging.  I know this first hand lol.  However, if you make some various sized loops and stack them, then wrap them, you have something resembling a fine looking bow!  This technique works great.

On the front side and the inside of this card, I used a cut from the Cuttlebug Flourish Emblem Die.  On the inside, I cut it in half to spread it out over both inside pages, and added a scalloped oval die cut for the greeting :)

Don't forget to come and join the challenge over at the Crafty Ribbons Challenge blog for your chance to win some fabulous prizes!  And if you are looking for some one-of-a-kind ribbon and lace, come and visit the Ribbon Emporium :)  You won't regret the visit, I promise!

A Little Holiday Fairy Twinkles with make it Crafty :)

I have had this image colored for a while, and finally managed to get her on a card.  I love to do some different images every now and then, and this image was perfect :)  This is Fairy Twinkles from Make it Crafty.  I believe it was a freebie for a coloring challenge a while back, but I didn't get it finished in time, lol, go figure...thanks Zoe!

I colored her using my Copics and Prismacolor Premiere Pencils in the following colors:

Hair:  YR00
PC997, 1082, 946, 948, 935
Skin:  E000
PC927, 939, 1029
Bows:  Y21
PC923, 925, 937
Wings:  YG03, R20, E01
PC1005, 911, 908
Dress:  R20
PC923, 925, 937, 1050, 1052
Shoes:  E01
997, 1082

To finish her off I used paper from the Wild Rose Studio Annabelle's Christmas 6 x 6 paper pack.

You can find this and many other awesome images at Make it Crafty, I especially love the flower digis and hope to see more of them soon :)  Thanks for visiting!

The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge and some Pumpkins :)

Can you feel it?  Not vibrantly yet, but every now and then?  Sneaking into our otherwise wonderfully warm summer?  Yes, fall is coming, gasp!  Lol, I'm not complaining, fall happens to be my most favorite season.  I love the freshness that a little bit of cool air adds to the warmed up atmosphere.  And the colors!  How can you not be in love with the wonderful colors of fall!

It's time for a new challenge over at The Paper Nest Challenge Blog and I have chosen to do one of last month's new releases for fall, Pumpkin Ellie :)

I have colored her using my Lyra Rembrandt Poly Colors.  I have had these for months but just kept going back to my good old beloved Prismas, lol.  So I thought I would finally give these a go.  And, yes, they are wonderful, although I think I prefer the massive color choices allowed by the Prismas.  Polychromos are my next indulgent art purchase lol (this month's indulgent art purchase was gelatos, stay tuned for a post!)  So here are my colors for Pumpkin Ellie :  (I also used my Copics and Prismacolor Markers, denoted by the first set of numbers)

Hair:  Y32
82, 76, 75, 02
Skin:  E00
31, 32, 90
Clothes:  PB82, YR24
87, 76, 75, 195, 97
Headband:  PB82, YR24
87, 75, 76, 01
Pumpkins:  YR02, PB82
87, 17, 13, 02, 75, 76, 87, 01, 02
Wheelbarrow:  YG63, PB108
74, 73, 96, 97, 98, 65, 01

To finish this project, I used paper from the Jillibean Soup Country Pumpkin Chowder 6 x 6 paper pad, and paper doilies, paper flowers and clothespin all from Recollections (Michael's), a memo pin from Tim Holtz/Ranger and the 'Thanks' stamp from Travelogique.  The ribbon is an unnamed ribbon from my stash (of which I have quite a few lol).

Sigh, I love the colors of fall, and try as hard as I am, I cannot find many fall/autumn patterned papers.  Very sad :(  Tons of Halloween colors, but sadly not many fall colors, in fact none.  Personally I would much rather celebrate fall than Halloween.  But maybe that's just me lol.

If you are looking for sweet images to use in your projects, please come and visit The Paper Nest Dolls online store.  You can also find some digi images over on Etsy!

Come and join in the monthly challenge for your chance to win some images!  The challenge is always the first Monday of every month and is always ANYTHING GOES!  See you there!

A New Release for The East Wind :)

Hello everyone, it's new release day over at The East Wind :)  This new image is called Lucy Loo - Hair.  Gee, lol, I wonder why.

I colored this image using my Copics and Prismacolor Premiere Pencils in the following colors:

Hair:  YR24
PC945, 946, 948, 942
Skin:  E000
PC927, 939, 1029
Eyes:  YG03
PC988, 908, 938
Lips:  PC1029, 938

I inked the edges of some of the papers using Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap Distress Inks from Tim Holtz, and the paper is from my stash.

I am challenging myself to create more Birthday cards for people other than little girls lol.  Hopefully this piece fits into that category.

You can find many more original designs by Unky Lastrange over at The East Wind Etsy shop.  You can find her also at theeastwind.com, on Facebook and on Instagram and Pinterest :)

New feature and a Gorjuss Hello

I have such a hard time deciding which images to pick to do sometimes, lol.  So after talking to Noelle at Quick Creations I decided I would do a new feature here on my blog.  Every month I will choose a different line of stamps to feature.  This month I have chosen Santoro's Gorjuss :)  Each stamp image I feature will be available at Quick Creations, although some may only be available through pre-order.

With that sorted, here is my first in this feature:

This is The Owl, a rubber stamp from Santoro's Gorjuss line, designed by Suzanne Woolcott.  I fell in love with these images last year, after speaking to a friend about what my style of creating actually is.  That was a tough one, trying to figure that out...I want to be all styles lol.  This is also a first for me, coloring on Kraft paper, and I definitely want to try it again, however one thing to keep in mind when coloring on kraft is to pay close attention to how the color of kraft paper changes the color of your medium :)  I will remember this for next time for sure!

I have colored her up using my Prismacolor Premiere Pencils, and paired her with paper from MME Indie Chic - Nutmeg, and MME Lost & Found - Portobello Road 6 x 6 paper pads.

This is such a fun image to color, and really lends itself to any style of card and color.  To purchase this and other Gorjuss dolls, you can visit Quick Creations.  Also don't forget to visit the blog, and join in our challenges!  Happy crafting!

Captain Owen is on his way with The Paper Nest Dolls

For my inspiration this week for The Paper Nest Dolls, I created a Travel Log, inspired by this awesome image of Captain Owen, and my trip to Manitoulin Island :)

I am currently enjoying my trip, but I worked hard to get this finished for you before I left!

I colored Captain Owen using my Copics, Prismacolor Markers, and Prismacolor Premiere Pencils in the following colors:

Hat/Shirt:  Y11, B00                                               Dog:  E11
PC915, 942, 1034, 903, 906, 901                          PC945, 944, 948
Hair:  E11                                                               Heart:  R22
PC945, 944, 948                                                    PC925, 937
Skin:  E000                                                            Spyglass:  PB108
PC927, 939, 1031                                                  PC1060, 935
Boat:  E13                                                              Sail:  E53
PC997, 1082, 946                                                  PC941, 947, 948

The paper is from the Authentique Abroad 6 x 6 pad, and the anchors are die cut from a Lifestyle Crafts Die.  The headings are stamped using an alphabet stamp set from Recollections.

I love the idea of a travel log, and this is the second one I've made.  The first was an altered composition book, which I created for my daughter who loves to sail :)  She is currently on her way to me after being away for six weeks at a cadet camp for sailing.  I miss her so much, can't wait to get her back!  I am waiting for her on Manitoulin Island right now, and that was another inspiration for this project.  This will be the first time I make this twelve hour drive totally by myself.  Could be a long drive for sure, and I am prepared to spend the night half way.  For those that don't know the area, half way will be around Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and there is a really nice KOA campground there that we usually stay at on our way through.  So with that being said, this was the last project I needed to get finished before I leave, and now that I have finished, its time to clean and pack!

This was such a fun image, and you can find it in rubber stamp form on The Paper Nest Dolls website, along with many more awesome stamp images from Christine Paperdolls.  Don't forget to come and fins us on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, as well as the challenge blog where you can win awesome PND prizes!  See you there, and see you soon!

A Gorjuss Feature and A Cup of Tea :)

The third installment in my stamps feature, featuring Gorjuss dolls, is called Sweet Tea.  And she is so sweet :)  I stamped her on 140lb hot press water color paper by Arches (another first for me lol).  I really like this paper, it is so smooth compared to cold press.

I colored her up (another first) with my Prima water color pencils.  They are soooo nice!  I will definitely be doing that again!  I really do recommend these pencils, and Noelle sells them in her shop at Quick Creations.  They take the guesswork out of water coloring!

I paired her up with some paper from the DCVW The Garden Tea Party Stack 12 x 12 card stock pad.  I have been finding it much easier to choose my paper before I choose my coloring colors these days.  That way everything matches perfectly!

If you would like to purchase this or any other Gorjuss stamp, please visit the online shop at Quick Creations.  And don't forget to come and join our monthly challenge over on the challenge blog!  You can also find Quick Creations on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest!

Double Eyelashes New Release with The East Wind :)

Hello everyone, I am here today with a new release from The East Wind, called Double Eyelashes :)  I just love the little details Unky adds to her images, like the ornate headpiece she is wearing.

I had a lot of fun coloring (as with all of Unky's images :P) using my Copics and Prismacolor Premiere Pencils.  I am finding lately, the easiest way to start my projects is by picking my paper first.  I find the paper that matches the image the best, then I pick my colors from the paper.  That way, when all is said and done, first there is no guess work, lol, and second, everything matches perfectly!

Unky's images are so unique, you'll never find anything like them anywhere else but in her Etsy shop.  You can also find The East Wind on Instagram and Pinterest, and of course on Facebook!

I Love You and a Gorjuss Feature :)

This is the second project in my stamps feature, using Gorjuss dolls.  This is The Hatter from Santoro's Gorjuss line of rubber stamps, designed by Suzanne Woolcott.

I have colored using my Prismacolor Premiere Pencils on white card stock, and paired her with several sheets of 6 x 6 patterned card stock from my stash.

This little girl has so much character, and any other color than red and black I don't think would do her justice lol.  If you would like to purchase this or any other Gorjuss doll stamps, please visit Quick Creations here.  Also come and join us for the monthly challenge over on the challenge blog!  You can also find Quick Creations on Pinterest and Twitter, as well as Facebook :)
