Manatees are so cute ;)

Another of my Paper Nest Doll features for Quick Creations and Noelle Martin today.  This time I have used the Mermaid with Manatee rubber stamp image.  Manatees are so cute when Christine Paperdolls draws them, lol, although I have absolutely no idea what they look like in real life.

I have colored her with my alcohol Ink markers and my Prismacolor Pencils in the following colors:

Hair:  Copics E13
PC1082, 935, 946
Skin:  Copics E000
PC927, 939, 1029
Tail:  Copics BV000
PC996, 1008, 932
Manatee:  Prismacolor Markers PB121
PC1072, 1076

The paper is from Hampton Arts' Ki Modern Elegance 6 x 6 paper pad, and I did NOT use a sketch on this piece.  I repeat, I did NOT use a sketch.  Scarey thought isn't it.  LOL.

You can find many Paper Nest Doll rubber stamps in Noelle's online shop over at Quick Creations.  And come and join the monthly challenge on the Quick Creations Challenge Blog!  Come on over and join the fun!

A Gorjuss Feature and A Cup of Tea :)

The third installment in my stamps feature, featuring Gorjuss dolls, is called Sweet Tea.  And she is so sweet :)  I stamped her on 140lb hot press water color paper by Arches (another first for me lol).  I really like this paper, it is so smooth compared to cold press.

I colored her up (another first) with my Prima water color pencils.  They are soooo nice!  I will definitely be doing that again!  I really do recommend these pencils, and Noelle sells them in her shop at Quick Creations.  They take the guesswork out of water coloring!

I paired her up with some paper from the DCVW The Garden Tea Party Stack 12 x 12 card stock pad.  I have been finding it much easier to choose my paper before I choose my coloring colors these days.  That way everything matches perfectly!

If you would like to purchase this or any other Gorjuss stamp, please visit the online shop at Quick Creations.  And don't forget to come and join our monthly challenge over on the challenge blog!  You can also find Quick Creations on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest!

Double Eyelashes New Release with The East Wind :)

Hello everyone, I am here today with a new release from The East Wind, called Double Eyelashes :)  I just love the little details Unky adds to her images, like the ornate headpiece she is wearing.

I had a lot of fun coloring (as with all of Unky's images :P) using my Copics and Prismacolor Premiere Pencils.  I am finding lately, the easiest way to start my projects is by picking my paper first.  I find the paper that matches the image the best, then I pick my colors from the paper.  That way, when all is said and done, first there is no guess work, lol, and second, everything matches perfectly!

Unky's images are so unique, you'll never find anything like them anywhere else but in her Etsy shop.  You can also find The East Wind on Instagram and Pinterest, and of course on Facebook!

I Love You and a Gorjuss Feature :)

This is the second project in my stamps feature, using Gorjuss dolls.  This is The Hatter from Santoro's Gorjuss line of rubber stamps, designed by Suzanne Woolcott.

I have colored using my Prismacolor Premiere Pencils on white card stock, and paired her with several sheets of 6 x 6 patterned card stock from my stash.

This little girl has so much character, and any other color than red and black I don't think would do her justice lol.  If you would like to purchase this or any other Gorjuss doll stamps, please visit Quick Creations here.  Also come and join us for the monthly challenge over on the challenge blog!  You can also find Quick Creations on Pinterest and Twitter, as well as Facebook :)

Good morning everyone, I hope you are having a fabulous summer!  I am back with a new release for The East Wind.  I couldn't resist this image, she is so sweet.  I also had a hard time coming up with a sentiment for her, but finally chose to go with "You Inspire Me".  There are many things that inspire me, but I find this year especially, I need to find the inspiration in everything, and Unky's images are one of those things that bring me inspiration and a smile :)

It's Christmas Card Time with Crafty Ribbons

Well, as nice as it is right now, even up here in North Western Ontario, the inevitable is going to happen.  Yes, it's going to snow at some point, and snow usually means Christmas is coming!

Rachel over at Crafty Ribbons sent me this embroidery kit, and since I am terrible at embroidery, this project turned into a card instead of the intended Christmas tree ornament, lol.

I completed this project using the Noel Heart Wool Felt Decoration Kit, as well as some printed Christmas ribbon and some French Viscose Lace in scarlet.

Come and visit the Crafty Ribbons online store for all your crafty ribbon needs :)

Whats Better Than a Happy Princess?

OK, so...I have a confession to make.  When I first started on this crazy crafty artistic journey last year, I had a set opinion of several different images.  Magnolia was one of them.  Their faces were too big.  But in my journey I have found the fun in them.  They are now so cute to me and I cant get enough of them!

For Quick Creations this week, I am featuring Happy Princess Tilda.  She was a lot of fun to color, I just love adding life to these images.

I colored her on Arches hot-press 140lb water color paper with my Prismacolor Pencil in the following colors:

Hair:  PC1070, 1072, 1076, 941
Crown:  PC914, 1012, 942, 935
Skin:  PC927, 939, 1029
Dress:  PC1088, 1027, 901

I completed this project using paper from the Dear Lizzy Serendipity 6 x 6 pad, a Cheery Lynn flourish die, the CC Designs Make a Card #5 Die set, and paper roses from Recollections.

Noelle has a TON of stuff in the clearance section of her shop, so come and by and have a look!  Don't forget to come and join us at the challenge blog for more inspiration and prizes!

Some Inspiration from Crafty Ribbons

Hello everyone :0  The sun is shining and it is so beautiful here today.  A little bit of a breeze, but that's not a bad thing :)  Keeps you cool in the heat of the sun when you are on your deck relaxing and reading.  That's what I enjoy doing, and that is what inspired me to make today's projects for Crafty Ribbons.

I created three ribbon bookmarks, one for myself and for each of my girls.

I used ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, six different kinds of ribbon on three bookmarks...yes, I had a ton of fun making these!  The widest ribbon is made using the French Stamps 25 mm Grosgrain Ribbon, some 14 mm white seam binding, and some Swiss dot organza ribbon in island blue and white.

The middle ribbon is made using 23 mm Grosgrain Ribbon in a soccer ball pattern, some 14 mm white seam binding and some green Jumbo Ric Rac.

And for the last bookmark, I used the Vintage Birds 9mm Gosgrain ribbon, and Swiss Dots grosgrain ribbon in purple and gold.

I completed these bookmarks by adding ribbon crimp ends, beads and charms to each end of the bookmarks.  Top:  Make sure you choose ribbon crimp ends that are the same size as your ribbon :)

Don't forget to come and visit the challenge blog and get in on the action over there!  And also visit the Crafty Ribbons online shop for all your ribbon, lace and button needs and wants (of course lol).  Have a great crafty day!

Gorjuss Feature: Ladybird

Hello everyone, I have another Gorjuss feature for Quick Creations to show you today.  I ventured a wee bit out of my comfort zone again (phew...this is happening a little too often, hehe) and painted her using Prima Water Color Pencils and a paintbrush and water.

The rubber stamp image is called Ladybird, from Santoro's Gorjuss line, and you can find her in Noelle Martin's online shop at Quick Creations.  Noelle carries many Gorjuss stamps (and I think I may have purchased almost all of them heehee).

I colored her using the following Prima Watercolor Pencil colors:

Hair:  91, 95
Skin:  05, 08, 09
Dress:  16, 44, 32
Leggings:  62
Shoes:  07, 22
Ribbons:  16

I began this project by heat embossing the image with with white Stampin' UP embossing powder and then used the pencils only in the areas that would be shaded.  This allows the color to stay inside the lines when adding water to the image.  When she was finished I created an easel card using paper from the Echo Park "Summer Bliss" 6 x 6 paper pad.

I also die cut the two different sized ovals using the CC Designs Make A Card #5 Die Set, which you can also find in Noelle's shop.

Don;t forget to check back here often, for more Gorjuss features and inspiration.  Head's Up:  on the 15th of this month, I will be showcasing a Magnolia image!  I just love Magnolia too, and can't wait to get her done :)

PND Challenge with Blowing Bubbles Avery

It's challenge time over at The Paper Nest Dolls :)  Have you joined in yet?  There are always fabulous prizes to be won, and this month is even better!  We are being sponsored by May Arts this month, so each of DT girls has used May Arts ribbon in our creations.  Not only that...the lucky winner will receive some lovely May Arts ribbon for themselves along with the usual from Christine Paperdolls!  Thank you May Arts for the fabulous ribbon to work with this month!

Isn't this just gorgeous?!

I chose to create a piece using Blowing Bubbles Avery for this month's challenge post:

I used paper from Cosmo Cricket's Tea for Two 6 x 6 pad, and I did NOT follow a sketch for this project.  Although I probably should have hahahaha.  Sometimes it's fun to just wing it ;)  I used May Arts ribbon along the top and bottom of the card (pink velvety ribbon with cotton cream lace) and I also cut apart some pink flower trim and included it as well in the flower grouping :)

I colored her using my Copics, Prismacolor Markers, and my Prismacolor Premiere Pencils in the following colors:

Hair:  PB201
PC1072, 1074, 1076
Skin:  Copics  E000
PC927, 939, 1029
Dress:  PB133
PC1029, 1017
Bubbles:  Copics R20, PB108
PC922, 924, 925, 1061, 10653

She is just so sweet and would make the perfect Valentine's card don't you think?  Speaking of Valentine's Day, I realized while making this card, that I don't have any Valentine's sentiment stamps 0_0  Not good.  Will definitely have to rectify that very soon lol.

You can find Blowing Bubbles Avery in The Paper Nest Dolls online shop in rubber stamp form, as well as many other sweet images to use for Valentine's Day or for any other special occasion.  And don't forget to come and join in the challenge this month for a special prize from May Arts!  The challenge always starts on the first Monday of every month, and is always Anything Goes!  How easy is that?!  Hope to see you there!

I have chosen to do this sweet image for my challenge inspiration for you today:  this image is called Abracadabra :)

I have used paper from Hampton Arts' 6 x 6 Ki Modern Elegance pad, and followed a sketch from Mojo Monday (#391).

Suit:  PB108

PC1061, 1063, 930, 995
Shoes:  PB108
PC938, 1061, 1065, 1067, 935

Aaaahhhh, the finished product.  I just love it when something comes together so easily :)  Red, black and white is one of my favourite card color combinations, lol.  So when I saw this image I thought it was perfect!
