HLS September Watercolor Challenge: Tropical Theme

Sweet Sentiment August Sketch Challenge

It's time for a new Sketch Challenge over at Sweet Sentiment!  This month I have created a mixed media tag with a fun Stamping Bella image :)

HLS ATC August Challenge...Time!

It's time for a new ATC Challenge at HLS!  The theme this month is "Time" and I have created another bundle of ATCs :)

I started these just as I usually do, with a big piece of bristol or mixed media paper.  Then I added some Dr PH Martins Hydrus watercolors and let them move around.  Next I did some stamping and then I cut them down to size.  I got 8 ATCs out of this sheet of paper and I kept the little extra pieces to add as embellishments to these cards.  After I cut them to size, I distressed the edges with distress inks and heat embossed the text which comes from a stamp by Tim Holtz.  Then I layered on some embroidery thread, and the extra bits of paper which I also added three brads to.  I think the brads give a nice finishing touch. Thanks for stopping by to visit, I will have more projects for you again soon!

HLS August Watercolor Challenge...Ocean theme!

Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez Guest Design Project #3

Hello all!  Today is my last guest design post for Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez, and I created this card using the Dragon with Bird digital stamp.

Sweet Sentiment August Class and Kit Project

It's time to show my project using the August kit from Sweet Sentiment!

The kit for August includes this sweet gnome digital stamp from Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez and an awesome mushroom die and cloud stencil, both from CC Designs! :) I used the cloud stencil from CC Designs and my Distress Inks to create the background and added some of the mushroom die cuts to add more depth.  Then I fussy cut the gnomes and added them on top!  The sentiment is one I had in my stash.  All in all, a super cute but totally flat card you can send to a friend! If you are interested in this digital stamp and the class to color it in, go and visit the Sweet Sentiment website and join up!  But remember, the only way to guarantee yourself a kit is to subscribe :) Jammie Clark is the teacher behind the classes and she is just wonderful.  She makes it so easy to learn these techniques.

Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez Guest Design Project #2
