Muwahahahahahaha.....ok, maybe that was a bit much, lol, but you get my point right?

A Gorjuss Shadow Box Frame with Quick Creations

My daughter found my stash of Gorjuss Stamps, and requested a a couple shadow-box frames, lol.  And it just so happens that I had this one on my list to do for the Quick Creations Design Team.  Noelle is so good to me, she lets me choose which stamps I want to do, and this is another installment in the Santoro's Gorjuss feature here on my blog :)

This is "The White Rabbit" and you can find this one and many other gorgeous Gorjuss stamps in Noelle's online shop at Quick Creations ;)

Unfortunately, this frame wouldn't come apart so I could take the glass out, so there are some glare issues with this photo :(, but I think you can see the project for the most part.  I used the White Rabbit Stamp set, plus a couple of other little stamps from other sets, such as The Collector and Dear Apple.  I layered everything with dimensional adhesive, so that there is tons of dimension in this piece.  The patterned paper is from Santoro/Trimcraft "Mirabelle 2" 6 x 6 paper pad and the ribbon is from my stash.

My daughter chose the quote, which was written by George RR Martin, and in case you can't see it, it goes like this:  "A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies.  The man who never reads lives only once."  If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will know that my youngest daughter (15) always has her nose buried in a book.  I'm guessing she has lived about five thousand lives by now.  Read on Pnut, read on :)

I colored the image of the girl using my Copics, Prismacolor markers, and Prismacolor pencils in the following colors:

Hair:  PB89
PC1082, 946, 1076
Skin:  E000
PC927, 939, 1029
Clothes:  R11, G00
PC1092, 939, 1031, 1051, 1054, 992, 905, 1027
Shoes:  PB89
PC1082, 946, 1076
Clock:  PB108
PC1060, 1063, 1065, 935

Noelle has many awesome products in her online store to feed your habit..er..addiction...I mean hmmmm, there just isn't another word for it is there, lol.  But it is so much fun, yes it is.  You should definitely go and visit her shop :)

See you soon!  Happy crafting!

Some Crafty Ribbons Inspiration For YOU!

Hello everyone!  Are you enjoying the fall weather?  Although this is usually my most favorite time of year, this year I'm having a wee bit of trouble getting used to the colder weather...must be my old bones lol.

For my inspiration piece for Crafty Ribbons this week, I have created two cards.  Yes I know, lol, I usually create in sets of three, but when I created the vellum for this piece I only cut it into two pieces, therefore...only two cards!  Confused yet?  Join the party :P

I used the very pretty Morlaix Cotton Lace to finish this project, and I just love how they turned out :)

If you are looking for beautiful ribbons and lace, you really do need to check out the Crafty Ribbons website.

And don't forget to come and join us for the 12 weeks of Christmas challenges, happening over on the challenge blog right now!

12 Weeks of Christmas Challenge with Crafty Ribbons

Another week closer to Christmas!  And you know what that means?  That means it's time for another 12 weeks of Christmas challenge over at Crafty Ribbons :)  This week's challenge is Christmas to die for.  Which means you need to use dies and ribbon on your project :)

So this week, I used a stamp and die set from Avery Elle called Noel (I have also seen it called Fa La La La) and some Happy Christmas Saddle Stitched ribbon from the Crafty Ribbons shop.

I had lots of watercolor fun with this card, and I popped the little holly stamps up to make them three dimensional.  This cute ribbon can be found on the Crafty Ribbons website, along with many other awesome ribbon.  The new Christmas ribbon is now listed in the shop as well, and come back soon to see some of it in action!

And don't forget to come and join the 12 weeks of Christmas challenges!  One every week until Christmas over on the challenge blog!  See you over there :)

I love Butterflies and Sunshine :)

I have a sweet project to share with you today for Quick Creations and Noelle Martin.  I have used a CC Designs stamp called Butterfly Lucy, that I've had my eyes on for a while.  I cannot resist butterflies, and this little darling caught my attention and wouldn't let me go :)

I have colored her using my Prismacolor Premiere Pencils in the following colors on Arches 140lb Hot Press water color paper:

Hair:  PC914, 942, 1034, 943
Skin:  PC927, 939, 1029
Butterfly:  PC904, 903, 1100, 993, 994, 995
Dress:  PC989, 1005, 911
Boots:  PC904, 903, 1100

I used the 6 x 6 paper from Doodlebug called Hello Sunshine to make this card, and to cut the die shapes, I used the Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Sizzix Decorative Accent and Label and the Wild Rose Studio Butterfly Lace Dies.  I used Tim Holtz Distrtess Ink in Antique Linen to give some depth to the edges and also to create a slight shadow around the image.

I used some Ranger Glossy Accents to highlight the word Hello and finished off this project by adding some adhesive pearls from Recollections.

I love to color on hot press water color paper with my pencils.  The amount of tooth is perfect for pencils, the colors blend so beautifully.

If you are looking for great supplies for your crafty habit (and we all know its more than just a hobby! LOL) then you need to go and visit Noelle at Quick Creations.  Great customer service and fast shipping, she has what you need.  Noelle also offers some pre-order options on some of your favorite stamp brands :)

I colored her using my Prismacolor Pencils in the following colors:

Noelle is having an awesome sale in her shop right now, you should definitely check that out!

Inspired by Ribbon Feature for Crafty Ribbons

Many times I create my project and pick the ribbon that will go with it the best.  This time I picked the ribbon and used it to inspire the card design!  I love the way these turned out, I had a blast playing with the watercolors too.

For this blue card, I let the polka dots inspire me!  With my watercolor paints and water, I splashed, I spritzed, I splooshed and I even used some Gelatos and a stencil ;)  The ribbons are 35 mm Satin Ribbon in Cornflower and the smaller ribbon is Organza Swiss Dots Ribbon in Copen/White.

For this second card (and I think my favorite of the three), I chose this fun summery ribbon and used it to inspire the green grass.  This ribbon is called Summer Festival - Meadow Ribbon  and the smaller ribbon is called Summer Festival - Holiday Message Ribbon.

And for this last blue card, I used the Happy Christmas Ribbon to inspire the many layers and sizes and colors of snowflakes.

You can find these and many more beautiful ribbons in the Crafty Ribbons online shop.  And don't forget to join us coming up for our Twelve weeks of Christmas challenges over on the challenge blog!  It all starts October1st, so I hope to see you there!
