3x6 Art Journal: Page 3 with 7 Kids Crafting Supply Store

I have another page in 3 x 6 art journal series to share with you today for 7 Kids Crafting Supply Store! I decided to try collaging for the first time, and I totally fell in love with it :) Now I find myself stashing away all the little bits of paper and whatever else can find hahaha.

Something is definitely up with my camera, and I hope to have that fixed soon. In the meantime, I apologize for the garbage photos. One of my favorite artists to watch on Youtube is KissMyCreative. She creates beautiful art journal and mixed media pages and also does collage. She inspired me to give this a try.

I started with some blue watercolor paint from the Prima Marketing The Classics Watercolor Pans. I just wanted to make a rough background of color. Nothing refined or precise. So I slapped on the blue with water and a big round brush and walked away from it to let it dry.

Then I added a couple lines with my Elegant Writer and bled the color out with some water. While that was drying I started to look through all my papers and ephemera that other people have sent me over the years and came up with a collage to lay on top of the background. Some of the ripped paper is decorative tissue paper, some is very fibrous, some is old book paper, some is ripped scrapbook paper and some is painted water color paper.

When the page was dry I started to glue down my collage papers. It takes a bit to get everything the way you want it, but the end result makes me smile :)

When everything was glued down I took a step and thought that this page needs some pop. A wow factor. So I got out my glue pen and some gold leaf and added the pop! I added the text from my Tim Holtz Chatz stickers and shaded around the sticker with my charcoal pencil :)

I enjoyed this page so much. There was not a lot of rhyme or reason to it. I just put things where I felt they belonged and I love how it turned out.

Thank you for visiting and sharing this with me, and don't forget to check out the 7 Kids Crafting Supply store! I have linked some of the products directly to the store for you :) See you soon!
