Big Hugs with Polkadoodles

Don't you just love big word dies?  This Big Hugs metal die set from Polkadoodles is perfect for getting your message across, without a lot of time and worry.  I love how this set can be the sole, large element on a card front.  I layered the cut outs with some black cardstock over some of the new paper, also from the Sweet Moments collection called Devine Hearts.  If you look closely, you'll see I also fussy-cut some of the hearts from another sheet of paper from the same pack.

I used my Beam paints to watercolour the letters in the word "HUGS" using the following colours:

Black
Blueberry Mountain (New and old)

Mo's Digital Pencil "Fairy Tuttle"

Sometimes, you just have to check your own attitude.  This image from Mo's Digital Pencil, reminded me of a petulant little waif who needs to "check herself".  So I coloured her up using my Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils and made her into a planner page lol.  Just a little something to remind myself that sometimes we need to step back and observe our own character for a minute.

I love colouring this image and I plan to colour more from Mo's Digital Pencil in the near future.  I love those dwarfs too!

Do Small Things With Love with Polkadoodles

Have you seen Polkadoodles' Sweet Moments new release yet?  OMG!  These critters are so sweet, I don't think I can handle it :)  I created this valentine's card using the bear with a star stamp from the Do Small Things With Love stamp and die set.    I've layered up the card panel on some fun mixed media background paper from the Pretty Colourful paper pack.

I am currently away from home and have to work with what I have in my possession lol.  For this card I watercoloured the image and the background with my Beam watercolour paints, created locally to where I am right now.

Beam Paints colours used:

Cherry Magenta
Harvest Wheat
Fireweed
Cub Brown
Bread

Beam Paints, colours used:

Robin's Egg
Blueberry Mountain (new and old)
Wild Salmon
Mars Violet
Harvest Wheat
Cub Brown
Mars Black

Thought of You Today with Santoro Gorjuss Stamp

Hello again friends, it's me :)  I am sharing a card today featuring a Santoro Gorjuss stamp called The Fox.

This project was coloured with my Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils and layered over some patterned paper from my stash.  I also used the heart dies from two different AALL & Create die sets (Heartnook and Intricatags) and the sentiment die is from Creative Expressions.

I'll be back again soon!

Garden Gnomes New Release with Artful Angel

Do you love gnomes like I do?  I love gnomes!  I especially love to color them :)  Artful Angel is releasing some new stamps today and one of them includes these fun Garden Gnomes!  Aren't they sweet?

To challenge myself, I used The Color Catalogue from Sarah Renae Clark to color these fun gnomies.  I used an online random number picker and was given the number 004!  Ok, sure!  I also colored with my Kalour colored pencils (WHAT?!) using the Prismas Color companion.  When you get to know your pencils really well, you can pick out the proper colors in other sets to match certain ones.
So the color combinations I used from Kalour are following:

Skin Combo #3:  181, 175, 197, 195, 048
Antique Navy:  296, 374, 378, 464, 381
Dusky Green:  174, 168, 116, 108, 118
Harvest Yellow:  039, 041, 056, 053, 204

See you again soon my friends!

Pond Pampering with Colorado Craft Company

When you find certain stamp companies that you love, and especially specific stamp sets, you will color them and create with them over and over again.  Pond Pampering by Colorado Craft Company is one of those stamp sets for me.

This image was colored in pencils, although I cannot remember which ones.  If I had to guess I would say Prismacolour Premiere Pencils.  I added the large Hello sentiment using a die from an SCT Sampler set and the lattice die cut was made using a Lala Land die.  I also used the Waffle Flower Nesting Postage Dies to cut out the image after it was colored.

I think this is the second time I've colored this image and I love both of the projects!  See you again soon my friends!

Abominable with Artful Angel and The Color Catalogue

Well hellooooo there!  Today I am sharing a bookmark I created using the Abominable stamp set from Artful Angel, while also featuring The Color Catalogue from Sarah Renae Clark for the Artful Angel Color Challenge.  That was a mouthful wasn't it? LOL

This month we are using the #303 color palette from The Color Catalogue.  Such an inspirational tool that takes all the guesswork out of your color palettes.  Especially since Sarah Renae Clark has added the companions, which match up the colors to several different marker and pencil brands.  I use Prismacolor Premiere a lot, so this companion has been immensely helpful!

I focussed this color palette on the Yeti itself, but have also applied it to the main part of the bookmark...the background papers.  Below is the list of Prisma color pencils I used for this challenge!

208, 195, 930, 929, 928, 938, 935, 936, 1024, 1052

Have some fun and come and join us in the Artful Angel Takes Flight Facebook group!

Just Because with Colorado Craft Company

I don't know about you, but a sleeping mouse on a mushroom??? Heck yes!  Just take my money already lol.  I can't just walk by (or scroll on by) a sweet stamp set like this one from Colorado Craft Company called Sleeping Mouse.

So I coloured the image with my Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils and added some patterned papers, enamel dots and a sentiment die from an SCT sampler kit.  The ribbon was a last minute added touch and I like it.

I am finishing up this month's projects shortly, but don't worry...there's more to come in February!

Zombies Eat Brains with Artful Angel

Another Zombie ATC to share with you today, using the Artful Angel stamp set called Brains.  I love to make ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) and when I saw this stamp set it kind of fit with a mixed media background.

I coloured the zombie using my Kalour Coloured pencils and created a mixed media background using texture stamps and ink.  She actually turned out pretty cute, lol...for a zombie!

Alright my friends, I am off to create some more fun and make a mess of my recently cleaned crafty space again!

Just a note with CC Designs

I love the Swissies from CC Designs, I always have even when they were Swiss Pixies lol.  So this Sweater Sitter Swissie (sadly, retired) also has my heart.  I coloured her using the patterned paper as inspiration and my coloured pencils, although I'm unsure which ones...I have a few different kinds I use.

I paired her with some dies from my stash as well as the sentiment and bling.

A quick and fun hello card!

Colour Palette with Artful Angel

Good day my fine friends!  Charis at Artful Angel has started a new color challenge for each month using the color palettes from Sarah Renae Clark's Color Cubes, Catalogues and Companions!  I love color challenges so this is is totally right up my alley.  The Color Companions take the guess work right out of the palette which sometimes is exactly what I need ;)  I color with different mediums, and I love that she has (almost) all of my mediums listed in the companion.

Charis chose color palette number #271 for the January challenge:

I chose to work with the Flutterby stamp set from Artful Angel.  This color palette really spoke to me for this stamp...sometimes that happens!  I look at a color palette and it tells me what image it needs.  I promise I'm not weird, I just love colors!

I colored this Flutterby stamp using my Prismacolor Premiere Pencils in the following colors (totally dictated by the Color Companion lol): *I have put a star beside the colors in the Companion, but I've also added a few to get the perfect combos ;) I like to have 3-5 colors in each combo.

Blue:  901, 1027*, 905*, 992, 938
Brown:  946, 944*, 943*, 140
Grey:  935, 1067, 1063, 1059*, 938

I will see you again on February 1st for another fun color palette challenge!

Hailey's Puppy with Unity Stamps

This puppy from Unity Stamps steals my heart every time I look at it.  So of course, I had to pull out my coloured pencils (Kalour I think...) and make him the star of the show on a clean and simple card.

I paired him with a simply put sentiment from CC Designs, a piece of ribbon and some enamel dots.  That's it.  The image and the simple sentiment say all that needs to be said, and the white space just adds to the sincerity of it I think.

That's all for today folks, see you again soon!

A List Book with Artful Angel

Are you a list maker?  I totally am.  I will make lists out of anything and everything lol.  I even prefer to plan using lists.  When I saw this Artful Angel Picture Perfect stamp set and the companion stamp set, Picture Perfect Frames, I realized one of them looked just like me!  And what better way to feature myself than to use it to deceorate something I love to do!

I coloured the images using my coloured pencils (athough I couldn't tell you which ones lol) and paired them with some other fun things from my stash such as dies from AALL & Create, Spellbinders and others.  I will use this list book all year long just for fun and then I will be able to look back on it after 2025 and see what I was having fun with!

Helloooo my friends!  I am sharing a card with you today featuring the Buttercream Birdy Bliss stamp from Aall & Create.

I paired the image with a Nesting Postage Die from Waffle Flower, as well as my Kalour colored pencils.  I also used the word die from the SCT sampler kit and a stamp from CC Designs' 20's Fellas stamp set.

I will be back again soon, stay warm!
