New Year, New Adventure with HLS ATC DT

Hello happy people!  I realized I have neglected my blog something awful in the last few months.  So let's start this year off right with a new adventure!  I have been accepted as a Design Team Member for the Happy Little Stampers ATC Challenge DT!  So, aside from my usual posts that I will restart for 7 Kids Craft Supply, you will also see one post a month for the HLS ATC DT.  Thanks for staying with me and enjoying my ride!

This is my first DT project for HLS ATC DT and this challenge theme is "VINTAGE".  I love creating ATCs and this theme was so inspiring for me. I looked through my stash and pulled out things I thought would go great with a background I had already created.  I love to create backgrounds especially when I just need to create something but don't have a lot of time to start a bigger project.  So I have a few stashed up, lol.

The background I chose was a Distress Oxide water smooshing background I created using Milled Lavender, Victorian Velvet and Weathered Wood.  This combination screamed vintage to me.

When I create backgrounds, I start with a 9x12 piece of watercolour or mixed media paper.  They are both nice and thick and take wet media very well.  Then I add stamps or stencils before I cut it to size for either an ATC or Coin.  ATCs are 2.5x3.5 (inches) and Coins are generally 2.5 inches round so that they still fit in the trading card sleeves.

Once the ATCs or Coins are cut to size, then I go and add embellishments and sentiments!  This makes things so easy, and I always have at least 9 ATCs or 12 Coins out of one background.  I can choose to decorate them all using the same theme or I can break them into groups of 3 or 5 or 7...well, you get the point!
