Into the Forest Mixed Media Art Journal Page

Hello! I have an art journal page to share with you today that I created back in December. I used only two colors in this page, but I really like how it turned out :)

I started this page by gluing down some tissue paper and then some cheesecloth to create a lot of texture.  Then I put down a coat of white gesso.  I used a stencil to create the birch trees with Ranger Crackle Paste.

I added some color using Golden's Fluid Acrylic in Quinacrodone Nickle Azo Gold and then added some black acrylic paint as well to create depth. Some of the shadows were created using a Stabilo All pencil.

I searched around the internet to find the text that fit just right and stumbled on this one. "And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul." I absolutely love this saying!

I hand wrote the saying on card stock and used some of the same acrylics to tone down the white of the card stock. I created a shadow around the card stock text and added a ground line to the bottom of the page under the trees. I didn't want them to look like they were floating lol.

I really love how this page turned out, and it goes to show that you can create with minimal supplies! I only used the following supplies to create this page: Matte Medium Gesso Crackle Paste Stencil Two colors of acrylic paint Stabillo All Pencil Black Pen That's all!
